Say Cheese

This week we have the pleasure of working on the Penn Dental Medicine Penn Smiles mobile dentistry RV (what a mouthful, haha).

I know that I'm always saying that whatever job we're currently working on is "the biggest job ever, oh my gosh, have you ever seen anything this big?!?" (and so on), but I think this may actually be one of the biggest jobs we've ever done. Both in scale and in process.

First there was the de-install of the previous full wrap. Brett and Sean are looking particularly enthused as they begin this step of the process.

Then we get to wrap it again! With fresh colors and new smiling faces. I don't even want to tally up exactly how many feet of a material and gallons of ink went into this wrap. It's so big I can't even get a proper photo of it.

Seriously. Although as big as it is- it still fits in the garage, which is a great testament to how awesome our (semi)new shop is. Never could have fit this in the old shop..

I know they're working hard, but I can't wait until they finish the darn thing so we can pull it out and I can get a proper photograph (and be able to walk across the garage again without having to take an hour long detour over the mountains, through the woods, and around the bus).

Made Over

Here is the long overdue reveal of the finished Mainline Art Center's Arts Alive Mobile. In order for this to really work- first, scroll down a little bit and remind yourself what this truck looked like when it first came to our shop.

It's fun, it's loud, it's awesome- and I am a proud mama.

Of course I couldn't have done it without the boys- my designs can only go so far without their crafty hands.

Pretty much: HOME RUN. I'm gonna take a few more minutes to sit around and be pleased with myself before I move on to the next project. Keep an eye out- coming soon!

Make Over

So many cool things have been flying in and out of our doors lately that I've barely been able to snap a photo! But I was able to catch this one just as it was getting underway. Below are some rare Before Photos of one of our vehicles, which I think will illuminate quite nicely just how much of a transformation a wrap can provide.

This faithful Expedition has obviously seen it's fair share.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult this fine car- but I promise you that when you see the final product, you won't even recognize it!

At It Again

Hopefully you're not sick of buckets yet, cause we sure aren't. It seems like the tournament season may be coming to it's climactic finish- but who knows, I could turn around next week to find my entire office, printer and all, buried in fresh naked buckets eagerly awaiting some new graphics.

I mean really, look at the state it's in now!

Although it's definitely a nice small scale indoors project to be working on during this heat wave- so in the boys best interests I don't mind sharing the space with a few hundred buckets.

... and several dozen sheets of bucket wraps.

Of course, the graphics are only half the battle, there are still nylon cords and washers and something to do with heat. The end result being sturdy, waterproof, easy to handle and carry buckets that look awesome!

Still a little ways to go on these, but it's worth the wait!

That said, make sure to keep an eye out for our next big project- which will hopefully be as plentiful as these buckets!

Speed Wrapping

We've been quite the busy bees over here lately. Now I'm going to show you something, and I want you to look at it, and try and guess how long it took us to complete, because I'm willing to bet that you'll never be able to guess how quickly we were able to get it done.

Look at that monster. Now whatever your guess was, I'm sure it's wrong so I'm just going to tell you the correct answer, which is: 1.5 work days. That's right. This truck needed to be back on the road the day after we received it- so we grabbed some extra guys and we got it done in about 12-14 hours. It may also be worth mentioning that those 14 hours were some of the hottest of the year. My boys- what little troopers!

This is the truck as we received it- completely naked and requiring a completely full wrap. Cab and all. Now it may be a little hard to tell from this picture the actual scale of the project. So I went ahead and put some people in the following photos to give you a sense of just how large this thing is.

He's a little hard to see, but that's Scott under the table registering the bottom of the wrap, while Brett stands on top of a bench on top of a table to register the top of the wrap. It's big.

But once they got it started, it was just like any wrap- business as usual.

And panel by panel they banged it out long into the afternoon (with the help of a lot of water and several industrial strength fans)

So close!

Aint she a beaut'? I'd venture to that this is probably one of the fastest and highest quality wraps this truck has ever received.

And as I've said many times before- we never sacrifice quality for speed or ease. Now I don't recommend letting your deadline go until the day before if you can help it- but it's nice to know that there's a company out there who's got your back in that situation.

A Tutorial

Things are heating up over here at Brands Imaging, both literally (Philadelphians in particular know our pain) and figuratively. But we are killin' it, and looking good while doin' it! It may be hot in the shop, but the projects keep rolling in and we keep rolling them right back out. We're kinda like boy scouts, leaving everything better than we found it.

Which brings to mind a point that I'm not sure if I've really driven home in the past.

So I'd like to take a moment to hide out in the air conditioning and provide a short lesson on just how much a vehicle wrap can do for you. A tutorial, if you will, on how to take a beat-up, graffiti-ed, old service truck and turn it into one of the smartest investments of your advertising budget.

You know those extreme makeover shows? Well this is going to be kind of just like that, except with a truck. This box truck we have came in with all kind of graffiti, adhesive, and rust all over it. As you can see from the photo, it's definitely seen some better days (and that's after we'd already cleaned it).

However, because of whatever client preferences or budget limitations, we not wrapping the whole box- only lettering and a few graphics. So that's when we have to get creative.

And we get to work.

And that fast, it already looks like a million bucks. Well, maybe a couple hundred bucks- it still needs some love and some custom graphics.

Going with Lettering instead of a full or partial wrap may be one of your cheaper options, but by no means are you settling. We come at every project with the same enthusiasm and pride in our work.

And there's much more to a "Lettering Job" than just some lines of cut vinyl type. We've perfected our technique for printing and contour plotting to add colors, textures, and style that you can't get from straight cut vinyl alone.

Using this technique allows us to provide imagery and graphics that aren't otherwise possible and to really open up the options for our clients.

In this case, just adding some extra color to the logo and having those detailed credit card logos give the wrap a snazzy, "finished" feel.

And now, I think I can safely say, this truck looks like a million bucks. Go ahead, scroll back up if you can't remember how it looked before. And more importantly, your clients now know exactly who you are when you roll up- your clean and professional identity will make them feel secure that they've chosen the right business. There really is no better investment of time and money for a business, in my humble opinion.

Now instead of just getting you from A to B, your service vehicle is bringing in the calls and making you money.

So there you have it, Extreme Makeover- Brands Imaging Edition, and the quickest most important lesson you'll learn on how to get the most out of your advertising budget!

Chestnut Hill's New Look

As promised- feast your eyes on this adorable little bus. As part of their rebranding, Chestnut Hill is wrapping a whole fleet of vehicles. So far we've wrapped on full size bus, and two of these smaller buses for the college.

The designs are simple, elegant, and a perfect example of what a big impact a vehicle wrap can make- no matter how showy and loud, or demure and classic the design may be.

I heard a rumor that we're not even done yet, and there are more vehicles coming down the pipeline for this project. Of course I'll keep you posted with photos and updates of our projects, until then keep a weather eye on the horizon for whatever may come next!

Between the Fleets

As some of you may remember, a few months ago we embarked on a full bus wrap for Chestnut Hill College. Well we've found ourselves in the same predicament again! It may be a shorter bus, but it's still a lot of work- and we're ready for it!

As rumor has it this may actually be the first of a veritable fleet of little buses- how exciting!

Looks like Scott's got his work cut out for him, good thing he loves his job so much. You can't see it in this picture, but he's actually crying tears of joy.

I'll be keeping you posted as we come to completion- keep an eye out for the finished pictures, and an ear to the ground for our exciting upcoming projects!

Just about this time last year, we designed and wrapped a supply of buckets for the White Marlin Open. Looks like we're at it again. This time for the LBI Cup and Beach Haven Invitational.

Each bucket wrap was printed and precision cut by our trusty plotter.

Once cut out, they are carefully (and lovingly) applied to the buckets by our talented and crafty installers. Great work, guys!

Seem like alot? This is nothing compared to what we've done in the past. We can assure you we've got big things in store for the future.

No job too big or small

We get a large variety of jobs over here at Brands Imaging, and we're usually boasting about whatever huge or incredibly involved project we just finished, but today I'd like to take a minute to boast about something else. Lettering jobs don't really seem to get much press, but I'm here to change that!

John Weber Inc.'s new van lettering is outstanding evidence that you don't have to break the bank to get a great looking and eye-catching advertisement on your vehicle.

This is a pretty simple design as far as lettering goes- but the impact is not lost! It's clean, it's classy, and best of all- it will fit in your budget.

And of course, we treat it with the same love and care as any of our vehicle wrap projects. Just look at all that love and care!

Big Things

We've got some big things in the works here at the shop. No, literally, BIG THINGS. First here's a preview of a custom outdoor banner for our friends at Dougherty Electric.

You can't tell from the picture (because that banner is so large it filled the whole dang garage), but the banner is actually shaped triangularly to fit the peak on the side of their warehouse. It's going to be a really eye-catching custom piece. Not to mention the fact that you'll be able to read it from a mile away!

Yeah, I don't know how we're gonna get it up there either guys..

And then there's this monster. We've got the great fortune of getting to do this full (and I mean FULL) bus wrap for Chestnut Hill College.

For scale: that ladder's taller than me- this bus is enormous..

I know it doesn't look like much just yet, but as you can see our installer's just about ready to start KILLIN' it.

So keep an eye out for these finished products, I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited to see them finished. Not to mention how accomplished we're going to feel when we best these beasts!

Vehicle Wrap Round Up

Hey Internet, sorry it's been so long- it's just, BOY have we been busy. We've been pumping out vehicle wraps like it's our job! oh wait..

Here's a snazzy little partial we did for Bravo Marble & Granite, our neighbor up the street.

And here's an awesome full wrap we put together for Jump Bail Bond Agency.

B&B came to us for another partial, and this time they got away with one of the more unique partials we've ever done!

And hey, so did Home Care Options.

Those guys are so lucky to get such cool wraps! But hey, we've been stepping up our game over here- so if you too want a really cool wrap, I think we can definitely help you out with that.

Kenneth Cole; The Most Debonair Wall Graphics EVER!

A few months back ODM (The Österholm Digital Marketing Group) came to us for a custom wall wrap. The end result turned out so stellar, we got a call for a 2nd and 3rd job! This time we were wrapping their entire lobby wall, including the rounded column. They wanted to continue their original theme of blue, flowing, HTML code, so check it out!

Big Things Come In Little Packages

We've done a lot of work for Darling's Diner at the Piazza in the past, but recently they offered us a very exciting opportunity to wrap our first Smart car. Don't be fooled by it's adorable size, it was quite a challenge- one we were more than happy to take on!

Isn't it darling??? Please excuse me, sometimes I just can't help myself. But no really, it is one of the cutest little things we've ever wrapped- I sure do hope we get the opportunity to do some more. C'mon, a whole fleet of little tiny wrapped vehicles? That sounds pretty awesome to me.

B and B Electric is on fire!

We have worked with B&B Electric before, and they liked us so much they came back for more! This time they wanted a partial wrap for their F150, and in addition to the standard info and logo, they wanted flames. And if it was flames they wanted, it was flames they were going to get. So take a look at the final product:

Perf?

Here at Brands Imaging we get a lot of questions about perforated vinyl (or Perf as we tend to call it), and to be honest, I completely understand the confusion. So I thought that today I might use one of our recent jobs for Expressway Printing to provide a little mini-lesson on the subject.

Most of you have seen Perf as part of a vehicle wrap, although you may not have even noticed it. It's the finishing touch that allows the windows to be covered with printed vinyl so that the wrap appears complete and seamless but the driver can still see out from the inside almost as clear as day. It's hard to explain, but the holes allow you to see through and since the adhesive backing is so dark our eyes basically filter it out.

Perf is also a great product for signage- with Perf you can use your entire store windows to push your message, and that can be a lot of prime real estate!

In the case of Expressway Printing it allowed them to really get the most out of their corner location.

And the great thing about Perf for window signage is that you can literally cover the entire window, but still be able to see out almost as though it wasn't even there.

No really! That is the view out from inside- through the perf. That's how invisible it can be. The only give-away is in the middle of the window on the right you can faintly see the seam between the two panels.

Pretty neat, right?

So in conclusion- never think that you are limited to the same old tricks when out shopping for a sign. There are many options open to you in order to help you get the most bang for buck.

The Brands team has been so hard at work recently, we have admittedly neglected our poor office. The boring, white walls have been begging for a little color. So we got to work, doing what we do best, and designed some custom wallpaper. And today was the day the wall got it's well deserved make over!

busy, busy, busy

Have you heard the buzz? Yeah, that was us, over here, being BUSY little bees. This past week we blasted through the first half of a fleet of partials for KOL Marble and Granite. And that's not including all those signs we made, and all those other vehicle wraps, and all that napping.... Man, it's been a busy week.

So diligent, my boys.

Now that is a handsome vehicle!

Another job well done! And that's only the first of six! We'll keep you posted on the rest of the fleet as well as the MANY other projects we're pumping out over here and Brands Imaging.

We have been so busy here at Brands Imaging lately, this little blogger just can't keep up! Here are some projects we finished up recently:

We haven't wrapped a trailer like this for a while, so this project was a nice change of pace. This trailer, for the company Fun Flicks, comes to wherever you want it to, & it plays movies! How cool is that?

Next up was another full wrap for our friends over at Bella Vista beer distributor. This time they wanted to let everybody know that they carry Ale Smith beer. And how could you miss an eye catching wrap like this?

And take a look at this dual wrap for Mamma Mia's Trattoria and Carlucci's Italian Grill. Doesn't it look delicious? Don't try to eat that pasta, I know it looks real, but its just vinyl..

Leadnomics is a global marketing firm, located in the Cira Center. You might remember them from previous blog posts; we designed some custom wallpaper for them. Groomingtails REVAMP!

So this wrap might look familiar to some of you out there, probably because this is a new van for the mobile pet groomer, Groomingtails. This van is a newer version of the one we wrapped a few months back, which brought some new challenges. But the wrap process went incredibly smoothly, and yet another satisfied customer drove away in a sick-looking wrapped vehicle! Have a look see!

Renegade Signage 101

Recently here at Brands Imaging we have been utilizing the power of The Renegade Sign; a clear,concise message printed on leftover materials and installed in a high traffic area. Most of our renegade signs thus far have been pretty small, but our latest edition measured in at 4 feet x 8 feet. And lets just say transporting this behemoth sign was a bit tricky. So here is a tutorial on how to get a 4x8 foot renegade sign into a 2-door ford explorer:

STEP 1: Gather up two burly workers for the job

STEP TWO: Begin maneuvering sign into vehicle

STEP 3: Make sure you don't squish any of the workers in the maneuvering process..

STEP 4: Simply guide the sign into vehicle

STEP 5: High-five your comrades on a successful mission.

Big Things

I'm sure by now you know how much we love big things over here at Brands Imaging.. So imagine our excitement when our friends over at Bella Vista Beer Distributor brought us this big ol' lighted sign gig!

On a completely unrelated note, doesn't the bossman's truck look nice? I think so too.

Not only is that sign big, it's round too! note the installer in the bucket for scale.

And because we like to live on the edge, we had our (highly skilled) installer do the last finishing touches on site.. dangling 15ft in the air....

And there she is: living, well, existing proof that big is beautiful! That is a 6x6 ft completely custom lighted cabinet with a printed vinyl face. Elegant in it's simplicity and intimidating in size.

A job well done I'd say!

Jake's Swine-Themed Store Front

Brands Imaging just devoured another job; pigging out the front windows of Jake's Sandwich Board. The sandwich shop, located in center city, has a plethora of delicious sandwich choices, but the star of the show is their pork dishes. We think these windows convey the pig theme, don't you?

Awesome Wraps, At Your Service

So this is neat- We just finished a full van wrap for Airotox, Radon Remediation Services.

This was an especially exciting wrap for us here at Brands Imaging, a labor of love, if you will.

This morning they drove away in their beautifully completed van, and we all felt a great sense of accomplishment as we watched it go- it's so satisfying to see a project like this one come to such a successful completion. And what a pretty completion too!

There's one of the prints laminated and ready to be trimmed.

Yeeeah, not to be a proud mama- but dang that's a pretty wrap!

There you have it, and we're all in a agreement that this may be one of the nicest wraps we've ever done. Both in design and installation. Yeah, we're proud.

So keep and eye out for this (and our many other fabulous wraps) on the streets of the greater Philadelphia area!

EDIT: We've just heard back from the proud parents over at Airotox and not only have they been getting numerous compliments on the wrap, but they also received ten calls in just the first week from people who had seen the van on the road.

Just further proof that while a wrap is definitely an investment of both time and money- it will pay you back ten-fold in the end!

Drowning in Buckets!

Brands Imaging was contacted last week for a massive job; we needed to print, wrap and put handles on 350 5-gallon buckets for the 37th annual White Marlin Open. The White Marlin Open is a huge fishing event held in Ocean City Maryland, where over 1500 of the world's best anglers set out to catch some of the coast's largest fish. So the Brands team got to work on tackling the gargantuan job, and just 40 hours later the shop was full of buckets. Each one complete with a custom wrap and new rope handles. Check it out!

Here at Brands Imaging we work fast. For example, the other day we got a call from the upscale Sofitel Hotel about installing some custom window graphics. And less than 48 hours later, their windows were covered in elegant, Sofitel-esque images. I mean all you really need to do is walk by and just drink it all in.

Hello all! We recently wrapped up a sweet project for Call Me Cupcake. There is a new cupcake truck in town, and they needed to stand out from the crowd. So the Brand's team went to work on turning this former mail truck into a cupcake mobile. We think it turned out pretty excellent, but have a look for yourself!

We've been so busy it's hard to keep track of anything, but I'll do my best to keep you all posted with out many (and sometimes crazy) goings-on...

Here's the huge production of a sign we did for Manayunk- had to stop traffic and everything. It was awesome!

This sign is in memory of Betty M Bowes (as you might have guessed), who donated the funds for the PSPCA's new dog park.

Spring Cleaning

Oh hey there! Gosh, it sure has been a long time (yeahh.. sorry about that- things been crazy, what with working and the move and all....) Oh yeah, didn't you hear? Brands Imaging is movin' on up! Our new shop is bigger and better and will provide us with all the space we need to keep bringing you even bigger and better work!

It's a beautiful Friday in Philadelphia and we here at Brands Imaging are eating cupcakes. And not just any cupcakes in any old fashion- these are DELICIOUS cupcakes and we are using the Millie Sandwich method (patent pending).

Step One: get cupcakes. Scott is sporting the Peanut Butter and Chocolate, while Shannon went for the Vanilla Vanilla. Variety is not so important- but icing is a requirement.

Step Two: remove the wrapping, and tear off the bottom.

Step Three: flip the newly separated bottom half over and sandwich it on the top over the icing. Thus creating the Millie Sandwich, which gives you the properly equal ration of icing to cupcake with each bite- and no pesky icing all over your face.

Step Four: eat it.

Step Five: ENJOY!

We just finished up an all new wrap for Bella Vista Beer Distributors, featuring Sixpoint Craft Ales. It took just over two days to print, laminate, and wrap- and it looks totally awesome.

The boys did an amazing job on this guy, I mean, did they ever. And I ain't blowin' smoke neither. They busted it out.

Seriously, what you got now Bella Vista?? We're waitin'! Bring it on!

Burning Up The Shop Floor

Felt like we were getting deja vu all over the place this week- wrapping a little fleet of Transits for Alert One Fire Protection Services.

It guess it must have been a while since we did a full wrap, cause boy did these wraps kick out butts. We did manage to get it all done in just four days- but man those were four long days. Builds character, I suppose.
Also, it was totally worth it- I mean, look at these beauties!

Oh yeah, and remember a while back we did a little sign (not that little) for Barry Hackert Autobody (also not that little at all)? I remember it like it was yesterday (or, like, 4 months ago...)
Well I finally got my hands on some photos of the finished sign. Funny how small that sign looks- that building must be HUGE.

I know where I would take my car for a tune-up... y'know, if I had a car..

So this is cool: We got the chance to install some sick custom graphics for GSW. That's just about the coolest conference room I've ever seen. Seriously.

Oh yeah, one of the coolest parts- that metal? That's actual metal. We roughed up some steel, slapped some vinyl on it, and slapped all that up on the wall. With finesse of course..

Gosh, it looks so cool- the boys worked their little butts off on this one, and it really shows. Good job you guys!
I almost wish I worked there, but then I remember that my ~~cave~~ office's got some pretty sweet wall graphics too.. so there.

Dark Horse

Another week, another wrap. This time it's a partial wrap for Bella Vista Beer Distributor, featuring Dark Horse Brewery, out of Michigan.

As you can see, we here at Brands Imaging take our job very seriously, and work incredibly hard to bring you a superior product. No, really.

Here's the finished van, ready to head back over to the distributor and help sell some beer. I wonder if there's any way they could be convinced to pay my design fee with beer..

Oh, and did I mention that we worked long into the night to get it done. Cause we here at Brands Imaging get our sh*t done.

Hey all,
A new day, a new (delicious) wrap. Darling's Diner asked us to hook them up with a sweet new wrap, and we thought to ourselves.. why not?

Haha, get it? Sweet wrap.. cause of the cheesecake.... heh.

Oh and we wrapped the roof too, so the fancy pants people upstairs in their condos can look out the window and order cheesecake, delivered right to their room. I wonder if Darling's delivers to south philly...

Yeah, that's a job done darn well, darnit. Complete with the Brands Imaging Cheesecake seal of approval.

Hey All,
We've been busy here at the shop (as always) but this past week we decided to do something nice for ourselves. So we wrapped our new sales girl's car.

There I am, in my cave. Designing!

Seems like an awful lot of wrap for such a little car.. Them prius' is tricksy.

So pretty~!

Look at them, all proud of themselves! Truthfully, they should be- this car was printed, laminated, and wrapped in two and one half days (that including the speed-bump that was the great shop toilet clog of friday morning..) Not bad if you ask me. Especially if you take into consideration our constant tomfoolery.. I mean... hard work and perseverance...

(which may or may not be featured in the video I'm working on, but who can say?)

Hey there!
Got a fresh wrap for you, hot out of the oven! (Literally, they cranked the heat up to fight off the Philly chill while banging this guy out. Now if only I could get them to let me keep one of those kerosene heaters under my desk.. I don't know about those fumes though...)

I wish I had before pictures of this van- we had to de-install the old wrap before we could get to work on the new one, and boy is this an improvment.

aw, that sure is pretty.

This was probably one of our best installations- no headaches, two days (including de-install of the old wrap), and it looks awesome. Props to Qdoba for sending this our way! If only we could've gotten some burritos out of the deal...

P.S. stay tuned for the video of the whole process (including de-installation, and possibly some hilarious outtakes. Seriously- these guys crack me up).

New Year, New Wraps

I hope you all had a real fancy New Year, complete with a long weekend to sleep it all off. I know we here at Brands Imaging are psyched for the New Year, and are continuing to work our little tails off.
The latest thing we finished were a couple of Courtesy Shuttle wraps for Porter Auto Group (one more still on the way). It was a boatload of work- but they came out great!

These are the first full wraps we've done in a while- look at all that material! That's a little daunting..

But they came out beautifully- don't we just make it look like a piece of cake? (I know for a fact that they were not, but we're just so talented and professional that we make everything appear to be a delicious slice of chocolate cake.)

The Quest was the first vehicle, and then we moved onto the Flex..

And still on the way is a Nissan Traverse- keep an eye out, I know we're itching to get back out there..

Hey ya'll, can you hear me under all that snow? Listen don't let it stop you from getting out- I know we didn't.
We've been super busy all week working on a whole lot of nonsense for Cherry Hill Rt. 70 Cleaners.
It started with a sign:

I know, it looks cute right? Of course nothing comes out that adorable without a lot of work going into it- so thanks installation ninja for your blood and sweat (and possibly tears).
Then we moved on to their fleet, yes, fleet of vehicles. Oh, and did I mention that we finished it all in three days.

Yeah, we're that awesome. The boys even came out on saturday to wrap up the job (..i must stop with these puns- it's just too easy!)
All done, and with not even a moment to spare they delivered the last vehicle during the snowpocalypse of 2009.
Parenthetically this is what philly looked like about three hours after that photo was taken:
talk about timing...

A job well done I say!
But nothing's finished until it's finished- still to come: awning! interiors! green!

Hey ya'll,
Y'know given that it's almost thanksgiving or whatever, we found ourselves reflecting on all the things we're thankful for here at Brands Imaging.. like all those jobs that have been keeping us busy the past few weeks. Here's an in progress look at what we've been working on.
First was the big job we did for Pinnacle Niteclub last week. We wallpapered four 6 X 7 foot walls in their new club.

It came out great, and I'm super excited to see it done. As soon as I can get my hands on some fabulous finished photos, you'll be the first to know.
Next, we wrapped two Ford Transit Connects for Robin Ford. These were a piece of delicious cake to do, and came out awesome.

I especially can't wait to see the pictures of the second one (it was blue), but I guess we'll all wait with bated breath together.
And last is an ongoing project (so close to being finished), a 3 X 14 foot lighted sign for Barry Hackert Autobody.

It came out really spectacular and we can't wait to put it up.

And that about wraps up our super productive week. (haha, get it? wraps?)

Big Accomplishments

Hey there! Quick update: we finished Award Cleaners!
It only took forever, and the addition of a whole new installation ninja- but by golly we did it!
And ain't she pretty?? Yeah, I think so too.

Big Things

Hey there loyal followers of all things hardcore (because that's what we are), here's an update on an ongoing project here at Brands Imaging.

No, that's not hardcore at all..

So we've been working hard on a sign for Award Cleaners. Constructed basically from scratch, it's two 10 x 15 foot panels- that's a lot of freaking lifting, welding, manpower, and materials. But we muscled through it like the high class handymen we are.

That looks difficult.

And not only did we build the new one ourselves, we tore the old one down too. Talk about multi-talented...

Dang, that's big!

Here are some ninjas for scale. Strong ninjas.

And there she is, almost finished. I'll have the final pictures for you in the coming days. This has definitely been one of our biggest projects- if not in size, at least in steps.
So if you ever need anything, let us know. Seriously, your kid needs a new tree house, we could build that- and we probably wouldn't say no.
Just kidding. (But not really)

On The Wall

Hey world, long time no blog huh?
So, we've done a lot of cool stuff for De' Ultimate Hair Bar, but I think this is probably the coolest:

Yes, that's a 8 by 13 ft custom wallpaper. Designed, printed, and installed by yours truly... with a little help from the ninjas.
Equally cool, but possibly even more awesome is the other custom wallpaper we did last week for the TRUST Gallery (formerly F.U.E.L for you Philly natives).

That there is 5 x 23 ft of pure, fresh-squeezed, talent- never from concentrate. It was installed for the celebratory event at which the winners of Windows Throughout Old City were announced.
I can't believe it could possibly get any better, but it just so happens that I've got the video of this walls creation from print to cut to installation.

Yeah, we're that rad.

Chestnuts Roasting

It's a chilly day here in Philadelphia, and the boys just wrapped up another trailer for the fine folks of Chestnut Street Caterers.

(Above) Install ninja extraordinaire Scott Painter utilizes his 6th sense (pertaining to all vinyl installation and adhesion) to lay out the passenger side panel. (Below) Registration is a fickle mistress, but Mr. Painter handles it with ninja ease.

(Above) Our fearless leader, squeegee in mouth, lays down a final layer of heat to seal the wrap. (Below) More heat is applied while Scott trims the edges.

We matched the cut vinyl to the color of the truck by cutting it from a strip of vinyl printed the same color. Your humble narrator patiently weeded all of those delicate lines (we all do our part).

Whole Wheat

Last week, we at Brands Imaging flexed our philanthropic muscle by donating installation and printing to the efforts of local community group Photophilanthropy. All summer long, those ladies and gentlemen have been devoting their free time to beautifying Wilder Street in Gray's Ferry, and they were finalizing their project with a large, outdoor installation of black and white photographs of influential figures in the neighborhood and the children that helped them with their project. So, we rolled up our sleeves, mixed up some buckets of wheat paste and went to work...

Brands Imaging believes that it is everyone's responsibility to help beautify our city and to help recognise individuals that keep communities going. This was a fun project for everyone involved, and we were glad to be a part of it.

Brands Imaging was called forth by the lovely stylist divas at De'Ultimate Hair Bar to do a complete head to toe install for their new shop in Northern Liberties. This installation of cut vinyl is just the tip of a series of large vinyl pieces, table and door wraps and custom signs that will be installed at the shop over the next week or two.

In a fearless feat if vinyl mayhem, our ninja team set upon this hapless white van, given to us by Mall Chevrolet, and transformed it into a mighty behemoth of vehicle graphic glory. What began as a bland representation of a company vehicle is now cruising in style with a partial vehicle wrap accented by cut vinyl.

Guitar Hero

We recently finished a round of cut vinyl for some fun customers. First on the list is a guitar customization that we did for a private owner. A little black cut vinyl transformed this yellow guitar into a cab themed beauty.

Next on the list was some cut vinyl for Creep Records's new location at the piazza. This included a detailed cut vinyl graphic on the door, and a larger than life piece on the wall inside.

Fancy Bowtie

We were asked by another Chevrolet dealer to update their current bow tie sign with a slick, printed gradient sign. Below, Scott takes the trim off of the old sign so that he can measure it out...
The new sign must be routed out of translucent acrylic. Our installer extraordinaire traces the old shape so the new sign will fit on the existing channel.

Below is the finished, routed shape.

Print in hand, scott centers the vinyl on the cut shape before application.

That Chevrolet channel is looking mighty empty. Time to update that face with some keen, printed vinyl...

Hot Food Joint and Fancy Hair

We all need a little face lift once in a while. The fine folks at Hairs to You recently contacted us to spruce up an old sign in front of their new salon. With deft skill, our ninjas went to work transforming an old, wooden post sign...

...into a colorful eye popping sign for their new location currently under construction. We painted the posts and provided them with a sleek, custom design printed on weatherproof vinyl with a matte laminate finish. Here is the two-faced sign, completed:

In other news, the owner of PYT, a new, high class burger joint newly opened in the piazza, hired us to print and install this massive wall mural in their private dining area. The images were shot by local photographer M. Scott Whitson and blown up to massive proportions, adding to the sleek, urban feel of the establishment.

Silly Frog

Dos Funny Frogs, a commercial and residential cleaning service provider, called on Brands Imaging to provide them with a fun, upbeat design for their frog-themed business vehicle, a Kia Soul.

We came up with a mixture of cut and printed vinyl that would give their vehicle a clean look, and still maintain the bright, childlike fun that they were looking for.

Here lays the sprawling mass of cut ivy that will decorate the wheel wells. Have fun weeding that one, ninja team...

Here our ninjas fastidiously apply the vinyl via squeegee and application tape.

And this cheerful little number is the finished project. The frog on the side is printed and cut vinyl, while the lettering and vines are plain, cut vinyl.

Mexican Spaghetti (Part 2, The Cheese)

SO, it took two days to finish, but the Jeep for DeBeer/Gait Lacrosse is finally finished. A joint effort put forth on Friday, with our Temp Ninja breezing in momentarily for wrapping and moral support, and a lesser (but no less daring) effort today, with only the hood, grill and window perf to finish.

This week the fearless crew embarked upon an epic journey in the name of DeBeers/Gait Lacrosse. After receiving the artwork on Tuesday, the crew had a scant day to wrap a full vehicle after printing.

Death Defying

This week, our fearless ninjas embarked on a journey of terrifying heights. Our extended Tri-Star family contacted us to complete the mural on the Sesame place tower...

"No sir, I don't like it!" Our fearless install ninja stalks away from the base of the tower, contemplating the group's plan of attack.
Rising to heights of 130 feet, the ninja team gets to work laying down the strips of vinyl to complete the tower mural. It was a tedious process consisting of numerous, overlapping strips...

In other news, our garage door gets a face lift with some new plotted vinyl. Thanks to a new, 54" machine, we were able to cut this 4 foot design in one, easy piece.

This week we embarked upon the tenuous journey of creating a lighted box sign using translucent vinyl.

It starts with the construction of the box sign itself. Here, our fearless leader fastens the last of the structural pieces and fishes through the wiring...

Our install ninja was left with the task of painstakingly weeding out all of the letters from the blue background...

Now it's application time. This large roll is actually the largest piece of masking tape ever. We use this to transfer the vinyl from its backing to the box sign...

Your humble narrator assisted with this job, making sure the application tape remaied unwrinkled as it laid down.

Squeegee time!

Again, our install ninja moves at blinding speeds (sometimes breaking the sound barrier), as he squeegees the application tape down.

Because of the shear size of the sign. The vinyl had to be cut in two parts and spliced together seamlessly. Here, our dynamic duo lay in the second part of the blue.

Finally, the blue is laid out and ready for the second color...

And now it's magic time. Here are the completed signs (with the red vinyl carefully laid over the blue).

Walls Galore

These are just a few shots from the wall mural we designed, illustrated and installed for Trick Zone Philadelphia. A fine little wrap-around number. We even managed to match their curtains...

And the fine gentlepeople from The Piazza sent us this nifty design to print and install for them...

It's that time again...er, well it's that time finally...

Time to update the ol' website. Your humble narrator has spent the day typing away at various bits of code to fashion a mad creation (well, a mild creation that's actually not that different).

Tap tippity tap. This is a terrible angle of my face!

Meanwhile, our install ninja breaks out into a mad styling of sign glory, adhering vinyl onto a vertical sign for our friends at the PhilaRx Pharmacy (a couple of stand-up chaps).

We also offered up our shop space for the lovely lady Turso for a photo shoot.

And this fine canine is Duke. He came along for the photoshoot...

Signs and Banners, I Choose You!

This fine Saturday, our heroic install ninjas traveled to 6900 Market to put up some crafty perforated vinyl.

While rising above the street in our glorious bucket truck, our fearless leader adheres the vinyl to the windows' surface. The perforated (it's got lots'a little holes in it) vinyl will still produce a lovely graphic while allowing light into the offices inside.

Whee!!!!

We also printed and installed the new Absolute Abstract sign on south street. We even did the electric for those pretty lights! :)

And, as promised, here are the final pictures for the signs in the new N. Liberties plaza...

For Fabric Horse, we installed a larger-than-life cut vinyl logo on the windows.

We're also responsible for the cobblestone patterned "screen" along many of the windows.

Suite 79 recived equal parts of cut vinyl and full color vinyl window graphics for their storefront.

Alas, time flies. Here we are in the budding heat of summer, and just on the finishing end of a long string of jobs (for which we promise to have photos in the future). Our fearless leader is in the far away city of no memory known as Las Vegas, while we keep hard at work here at the shop.

In case you missed it, we were a part of a fancy shin dig at The Walnut Room in Center City Philadelphia. Our work (found on the walls and bar) was showcased along side of local photographer Kelly Turso. Here are some shots from opening night...

We also gave a face lift to the exterior of Mall Chevy with a fleet of spiffy window perf cars on their windows.

And we decked out an awesome little rib joint in Manayunk with new banners, menu boards, table wraps and signage. The folks there where especially exited for all the new decorations...

Billboards and Signs and Widow Graphics, Oh My!

Our weeks become busier and busier in this mad world of vinyl graphics. First up on our list of mountains climbed is an interesting account from Infamous Couture, a clothing line from a local designer. The hired Brands Imaging to deck out the Z Bar for a high class evening of strippers and booze.

(below) Also on our agenda was a massive wall banner.

The following images were taken during the heart stopping install of the banner for Fishtown Shadfest.

Also on the to-do list were a triad of window graphics for Reloader Motorcycle Parts.

Our week ended on a quiet note with a sign for Brown McKinney Real Estate. For this particular sign, we thought it best to mount adhesive vinyl on aluminum.

(above)Then the holes for the "S" hooks were grommeted to add a finished look to the overall presentation.

(below) The final sign is ready for hanging!

Oh the Signs!

Upon viewing the gradient glory that we supplied for Phila RX Pharmacy, another business in the same building called upon our superior sign construction skills to create a set of signs for their business as well. After settling in on a bright, eye catching design, the troops were hard at work...

It may (or may not) surprise you to know that we consider out printer one of "the troops."

The following images chronicle the odyssey of lamination, a complicated process that requires zen-like concentration.

Watch with horror, as the print enters the belly of the beast...

...and is drawn through the rollers, now water and sun proof!

Now our install ninja squeegees the laminated print on to the sign face.

Picture time!

It was our fearless leader that was responsible for the precarious condition of single-handedly lifting the sign to this terrifying height in a bucket truck.

Busy Worker Bees

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of mad printing and installation insanity (hence our long absence from the blogging sphere).

Through our ingenious marketing skills, we were contacted to do a custom wall mural for the dapper gentlemen constructing the Venuto's in Havertown, PA.

After being supplied with the appropriate reference, your humble narrator went to work creating an old world type townscape with watercolor and colored pencil.

Then it was go-time for our nimble install team: taping up the panels so they fit just so and adhering the vinyl wall wrap.

Go install ninja, go!

We also did a lovely box sign for a new pharmacy opening in Philadelphia. Here, our install ninja prepares the face for adhesion.

Now we tape and squeegee.

Now we climb on the top of worrisome ladders and hang, hang, hang...I believe our Fearless Leader is floating in mid air taking this picture.

Ohhh, pretty finished product. Look how it outshines the competition!

This very cool banner was produced by Grit City, Inc for the tattoo convention in order to promote their new book. As you can see, our fearless leader (left) and install ninja (right) are adequately tatted themselves...

Our loyal designer has braved the depths of the seas of work... to emerge victorious, pictures in hand! One of which from the lovely people over at Unbridaled, who asked us to create a whole series of posters for their hot alternative weddings expo! Here's just an example of the goodies:

Speaking of monumental tasks, the inauguration draws ever closer! Our faithful leader here at Brands Imaging is sitting on the edge of his seat in anticipation (No, literally. Seriously, his seat is broken.) and we hope you are just as excited as we are for this historical event!

It's Time for a Facelift

It was about time for our installation truck to receive a much-needed wrap on the sides. So art department whipped up this little number for the old girl, designed to blend in with the old tailgate wrap.

Our crafty install ninja and fearless leader were nowhere to be found when your humble narrator snapped these quick photos of the finished work.

Now our hard-working little truck can drive down the street in style, announcing to all that happen upon her path the fine attributes of vehicle wraps.

We were commissioned to create these very lovely window panes!

It's been a short week for us here in the shop. Mostly we've been ~~printing~~ acquiring gifts for family and friends. The install ninja has beat it out to his home dojo in Ohio to make merry with his many ninja relatives. Much drop kicking and slight of hand shall ensue. Your humble narrator shall sludge beyond the mighty Deleware to her homeland in distant Jersey, where relations off all shapes, sizes and questionable mental status are planning to converge on the poor, unsuspecting hamlet of Edison, NJ. Our fearless leader will be away at the shore, celebrating the festival of lights with his respective family.

Website Adventures & Mighty Awning Feats

This week has been a mish mash hodge podge of ongoing projects. Mainly, our intrepid heroes set out to the faraway land of Center City, where they installed an enclosed awning for Le Bons Temps, a fancy pants little eatery located on 114 south 12th street (between Chestnut and Sansom).

Meanwhile, at the batcave, your humble narrator was kept busy with website updates, revising our portfolio page (now in flash, because I'm slick like that) and updating the thumbnail that brings traffic to our little blogspot home. Keep an eye on that site, because there will be ongoing updates and an overhaul in the next six months.

Drexel Has Wallpaper, Wolfman Has Nards

In a death defying feat of adhesive vinyl, we printed and installed some nifty keen art in the biomed lab for Drexel University. They supplied the art, so Art Department wasn't maddened by last minute design choices. Props go out to our install ninja...

In other news...wolfman has nards. We, of course, have known this since 1987, when a documentation of wolfman nards was captured on film in "Monster Squad." However, it bears repeating, as rescent wolfman sightings have been on the rise...

Let me just start with an apology for the lack of posts.

The shop has been so busy, as has each of our individual lives. I am sad to announce that there has been a death in the close family of a crew member. He has not been able to physically be here the past few days because he has been taking care of funeral arrangements.

Aside from our loss... we have been so so so busy.

In the past month we got flooded with work.
We did a wall wrap in the shop,

Wrapped the shop truck which was super fun. Really shows how an ugly truck can look really great as a wrap.

We did another custom wallpaper job for an interior designer, along with a 20 foot wrap for a mobile kitchen!

Super cool stuff has been coming our way and we are just throwing punches left and right!

Philly has been so good to us and we can not wait for what ever else it throws at us!

Trucking Along

hello all,
Tuesday, Brett and I went to NYC for a meeting with G2 Advertising. We were blown away with the facility and what they had to offer there. We presnted to them, 8 boards to represnt wallpaper/murals that can go on satallite bars for promotional reasons. It was very fun and exciting and hopefully great business will come from that..

Today I am printing the wrap for DEP Custom Tile, the artwork was approved and we are now moving forward. Printing today. Wrapping tommrow.

Also, I am in to process of learning how to launch websites.. my first will be a company called, "Philadelphia concepts" I'm excited to learn!
